Smell Components

  1. Channel #5
Father used to buy her a bottle on her birthday
  2. Virginia Slims cigarette smoke
  3. Finesse Moisturizing Shampoo
6.15.1997 – Switched from Suave to Finesse
  4. Maybelline Lipstick
Since before my birthday, I suspect since 1955 judging by family photo albums
  5. Stale coffee
Although Mother takes Chamomile tea in the evenings, she takes 5 cups of Folgers coffee a day.  Mother always says that taking coffee keeps the mind keen and alert.
  6. Mild halitosis
I suspect from gingivitis.   She brushes in the morning, but she does not floss.  Mother has used Crest for as long as I can remember, but it is not part of her smell profile because the coffee masks any hint of it.
  7. Talcum from rouge
Also Maybelline,  though I’ve found the talcum powder is the core smell of all powder-based rouge products
  8. Downy April Fresh Fabric Softener
6.15.1997 – Began using fabric softener.  Switched to Finesse Moisturizing Shampoo on the same day (on the one-year anniversary of Father’s death)
  9. Moth Balls (colder weather)
Mother keeps moth balls in the coat closet.  This is also an important component in our house profile (Profile #5)
  10. Mentholatum
Mother moisturizes her hands every night with ointment and then puts on her sleep gloves.
  11. Noxzema Deep Cleansing Cream
for removing her makeup right before taking her Chamomile and ginger snaps.
  12. UPS (Unique Personal Scent).  Somewhat acrid, just a hint of salt pork, tiniest bit of mushroom, boiled cabbage, motor oil.

see volumes 1, 2, and 3 of the complete notes for Profile #2.  I believe this profile to be complete.  No pending elements.  Scent simulation very accurate.
